Subject:Closing of the Brenton Reef Pilot Station Tonight
Date:Monday, March 12, 2018

Per the below email received from Northeast Marine Pilots, please note pilots will not board any vessels starting later tonight through tomorrow afternoon. We will advise all once the pilot station is reopened and vessel traffic can resume.

Due to the approaching storm, the Pilots believe that boarding vessels at the Brenton Reef Pilot Station may present significant dangers to personnel and equipment involved in any transfer operations. Therefore, no vessels will be boarded by the Northeast Marine Pilots, this evening (11MAR2018) and into the day tomorrow (12MAR2018). We will reassess the weather conditions tomorrow during the day, and the Pilot Dispatch Office will coordinate with affected vessels to minimize delays.

Additionally, there is a possibility that any vessel movements within the region may be affected, and may require adjustment of arrival/departure times, and/or additional harbor resources to safely complete any operation. The Pilot assigned will coordinate with the vessel's Master to assess the situation, and advise all parties accordingly.

Best Regards,

Capt. Sean P. Bogus
